About Me

My photo
Started the blog when I was a reluctant stay at home mum of two, now back at work and life is even more crazy! This blog is about combining work, home and everything else. I've two kids (aged five and three), youngest has Downs Syndrome, have one partner and no pets (the smelly goldfish went to the big bowl in the sky!)

Where do I start...

As of tomorrow, I am a stay at home mum. Not really through choice my fab job has come to an end and until I find something new I need to take the kids out of daycare, fire up the glitter and glue and be a stay at home mum!

So why the blog? Well, for something to do (cause with two kids under four I'm going to have a lot of free time!), to share some of our probably feeble attempts to fill the day (hence the name) and to give other mums (and dads) some ideas for how to fill the hours between wake-up and bedtime. In the book 'About a Boy' the main character talks about how he views the day in chunks of 30 minutes to be filled. I know that feeling, my golden hour is 5pm from then I know we're on the slide to bedtime.

But it won't all be babies and stuff, I'll also talk about books, and films, and celebrity gossip (lots of links to the Daily Mail I expect!) and Down's Syndrome (more of that later) and job hunting... basically anything that takes my interest!
